Single Parenting Article

“A well-written and thoughtful single parenting article can offer help as well as an understanding point of view.”

Get help from parents just like you.

Single parenting isn’t an easy job...and it doesn’t come with instructions. That’s why so many parents just like you wisely seek out the help of those who have been there.

Why the Internet is Your Best Resource
Single parenting books abound, and it’s in your best interest to read as many as you feel may apply to you. A well researched book will flesh out basic ideas, giving you an in-depth look at being a single parent and how best to deal.

But for quick, on-the-spot answers, the internet is your best choice. By searching your favorite engine, you’ll find input from people across the country and around the world. This gives you a good cross-references of various ideas, and an immediate view into what works, what doesn’t and what’s at least worth a try for your given situation.

The Right Single Parenting Article

It’s easier now than ever before to find out how other parents deal with the day-to-day ups and downs of this increasingly common journey. But you’ll need to know what you’re looking for and which articles best suit your situation.

The first thing to do in order to find the best parenting article for you is to narrow down what you’d like help with. Do you need a article on dating? Finances? Raising a teen without a mother or father figure? Be as specific as possible; search engines tend to reveal dozens, hundreds or even thousands of results. Try four or five specific search words rather than two or three and look at the best match results first. After a while, you’ll start seeing a pattern: certain organizations or authors will pop up more than once. This will help refine your search even more to find a single parenting article that is truly relevant to you.

Advice: Take it or Leave it?
Now that you’ve found some articles that match your concern, how seriously should you take the advice of the authors? First, look at the writer’s credentials. Has he or she written similar pieces along these lines, or is this his first parenting article? Is the author someone who has had experience with children, such as a pediatrician, pediatric psychologist/therapist/psychologist, a teacher or other professional?

Of course, if you’ve chosen an article written as an anecdote or recollection from another parent, the credentials may not be there. However, there may be a gem of wisdom (or several gems) to his or her words. If the writing seems closed-minded and doesn’t show that the author seriously thought out the situation before acting, pass this story by and look for a single parenting article. Any good article should show that the writer has looked at various approaches to a problem before settling on just one.

Sharing Your Own Story
If you’ve enjoyed an article or two, why not pay it forward by writing one of your own? You don’t need to be a professionally paid author to share your wisdom. Record your single parenting experiences in a blog, or write a brief segment for an online or paper publication. Some offer pay; others don’t. Either way, you’ll be glad you were a part of helping to make single parenting easier for the next mom or dad.

I hope this guide to a single parenting article has been helpful.
